A FIRST TASTE OF THE BIG LEAGUE
CADETS & JUNIORS - START AT 4:30 PM
The adventure begins in the heart of Châtenois’ medieval quarter, alongside its historic ramparts. Cheered on by the crowds, you’ll set off in a unique atmosphere before passing through the Witches’ Tower, an iconic local landmark!
Cobblestones and narrow streets guide your first steps before giving way to steep, demanding singletrack trails. The climb toward Hahnenberg is one of the course’s highlights: a technical section where managing your pace, footing, and energy will be key.
The descent that follows is fast and challenging, requiring focus and concentration. The course gradually reaches the edge of the forest before overlooking the vineyards of Châtenois. Little by little, the landscape opens up, the views become clearer, and the finish line comes into sight!
2 categories:
- Juniors (born in 2008 or 2009)
- Cadets (born in 2010 or 2011)
MINIMES (born in 2012 or 2013) - START AT 4:00 PM
NEW FOR 2027: The Minimes join the adventure with a course designed specifically for them!
3.7 km | 110 m elevation gain
Just like the Juniors and Cadets races, your first steps will take you through cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways before giving way to demanding singletrack trails. The descent will then lead you through the heart of the Châtenois vineyards before reaching the finish line!
Co-created with a local association
This new race format was developed in partnership with the Time-2-Run sports association, which has managed the Châtenois aid station since the event’s launch in 2023. The project was created in collaboration with Loïc Bertrand and Thomas Erhardt, who is also a member of the Trail Alsace by UTMB local organising committee.
Born from a shared vision, this initiative aims above all to introduce trail running to the next generation and to inspire and energise the young in a welcoming, festive atmosphere.
"This partnership with Trail Alsace by UTMB marks a major step forward for Time-2-Run. It gives the event fresh momentum, puts Châtenois in the spotlight and challenges us to keep raising the bar. Trail running is about courage, commitment and passing on a passion — and that’s exactly what we want to share, now and with future generations."
Thomas Erhardt - Association President, Time-2-Run
