A first semi-nocturnal adventure
Immerse yourself in this unique and accessible course, ideally suited for newcomers to trail running – the evening setting will add a twist to what promises to be a festive adventure!
The route will take runners from the heart of Obernai’s city centre to its historic ramparts and the finish line.
Starting at the Halle aux Blés in the centre of Obernai, you’ll weave through the bustling streets before heading out of town to the Alsace plain, its vineyards and orchards, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Mont Sainte-Odile.
Upon reaching the village of Ottrott, a mid-course refreshment station will allow you to regain your strength before tackling the fun and varied forest trails.
As you leave Ottrott the route follows the River Ehn for approximately 4km. This watercourse, historically central to the Royal Klingenthal Sword Factory workshops and the numerous Boersch and Obernai mills, adds a touch of bucolic history to your adventure.
The final kilometre will lead you onto Obernai’s legendary ramparts before a spectacular moonlit finish beneath the illuminated arch at the base of the Tower.
If you are looking for an entry into trail running, this race is for you – with its spirit of discovery and camaraderie, and the added excitement of running with head torches, it promises to be an unforgettable evening in an enchanting setting.
The race is open to runners aged 18 and above.
