A FIRST TASTE OF THE BIG LEAGUE
The adventure starts in the heart of Châtenois’ medieval quarter, along its historic ramparts. With the crowd cheering you on, you’ll set off in an electric atmosphere before running through the iconic Witches’ Tower — one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks.
Cobbled streets and narrow lanes shape the opening metres before the course heads onto steep, demanding singletrack. The climb to Hahnenberg is a highlight of the route: a technical ascent where pacing, footwork and energy management all come into play.
Next comes a fast, committed descent that demands full concentration. The trail then skirts the forest edge before opening out above the vineyards of Châtenois. The views widen, the valley comes into sight — and the finish line begins to feel within reach.
2 categories:
Cadets (born in 2009 or 2010)
Juniors (born in 2007 or 2008)
Co-created with a local association
This new race format was developed in partnership with the Time-2-Run sports association, which has managed the Châtenois aid station since the event’s launch in 2023. The project was created in collaboration with Loïc Bertrand and Thomas Erhardt, who is also a member of the Trail Alsace by UTMB local organising committee.
Born from a shared vision, this initiative aims above all to introduce trail running to the next generation and to inspire and energise the young in a welcoming, festive atmosphere.
"This partnership with Trail Alsace by UTMB marks a major step forward for Time-2-Run. It gives the event fresh momentum, puts Châtenois in the spotlight and challenges us to keep raising the bar. Trail running is about courage, commitment and passing on a passion — and that’s exactly what we want to share, now and with future generations."
Thomas Erhardt - Association President, Time-2-Run
